Course Introduction
About this Course
Welcome to the foundational course in Ms. Charlotte Academy.
This course will give you a comprehensive overview of the English language as a system, answering two main questions:
1) How do different elements combine to form clauses (the core units of grammar and meaning)?
2) How do clauses combine to form even the most complex sentences?
In the course, you will grasp the core rules and structures underlying English with basic linguistics concepts. These concepts will give you a deep understanding of how the language functions scientifically, allowing you to learn how to speak, read, listen, and write in a completely systematic manner.
Be prepared for a challenge and to re-learn a lot of things that you think you know about English. The course is hard, but, with the sound linguitic framework you gain from it, you will be able to improve on your own and spot your own mistakes in the future.
The course contains 7 sections with 29 lectures in total:
[Section 1] Clauses: The Basic Units of English (1 Lecture)
[Section 2] Overview of Linking and Embedding Clauses (8 Lectures)
[Section 3] The Elements of Clauses: The Subject (5 Lectures)

[Section 5] The Elements of Clauses: Object(s) (3 Lectures)
[Section 6] The Element of Clauses: Modifiers (6 Lectures)

Each lecture is broken down into different "chapter" videos by topic. You can revisit each topic easily.
Each lecture comes with a Reference PDF that summarizes all the information mentioned with extra examples, as well as an assignment that tests the main ideas introduced.
At the end of each Section, there is a Section Test, and at the end of Section 7, there is a Final Test.
